Articles on Inactivated Polio Vaccine, 2018 to date

Dear All,

As GPEI moves into the home stretch, the use of inactivated polio vaccine, either in full or fractional dosing, has become the subject of renewed interest. Below, items on IPV which have appeared on childsurvival.net since 1 January 2018.

Items 4 and 9 discuss nanopatch technology.

Item 7, on mucosal immunity and IPV, is of special interest. See also item 13, a systematic review of mucosal immunity. The ideal IPV would induce enough mucosal immunity to reduce or eliminate shedding of OPV virus, thereby reducing the risk of vaccine derived poliovirus.

Good reading.
